Firstly i would like to thanks USM for choosing me. I fell very happy and excited while i get know i been chosen by USM to further my study and USM have offer me SCHOOL OF HOUSING, BUILDING AND PLANNING (HBP) with the course of " URBAN AND REGIONAL PLANNING". When i get knew on this i was very happy because that is one of my chosen course for USM but i feel a little big despair because i dint get any offer from my hometown university , UNIMAS.
So i came to USM,PENANG with a blur mood. This is first time i came to Penang so everything in Penang is strange to me; the food , life style and so many things. So i took almost one month be used to the life style of Penang.
I start a new life in USM, Penang. First week is the orientation week. I feel asleep ever day during the orientation week because we have activities until late night and we been forced to wake up early in the morning. After the orientation week , it was Monday ;I attend my first lessons in universities (RUS 104 Studio Bersepadu ).We have receive a project on that day.The project title is "I , ME , MYSELF". We been asked to draw our own face on a A3 size drawing paper and wrote something about yourself. We also been asked to design our own logo. To me this really "killing" me because i don't even have a drawing base. But i got no choice because we been asked to pass up our wok one week later so even thought my drawing is lousy i need to draw so that i can submit it on time. Beside that we also been asked to create a blog to upload the assignment that been done.
After project 1 ,project 2 , after project 2 , project 3 .....non stop.....but until now we have finish our last project (Project 8 :LIVE PERFORMANCE) for this semester.The time was gone very fast.It seen that i just past up my Project 5 yesterday but the reality have came to the end of the semester. We have finish our last project and now we guys are preparing for our final exam.
If i been asked "What have you learn form RUS 104 STUDIO course during first semester ????" I will answer him or her " I learn a lot of during my first semester in HBP. I have learn a lot of different skill from the seven major course (Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning, Interior Design, Quantity Survey , Building Survey , Construction Management and Building Technology) in HBP. "This is why we guys been asked to study RUS 104 STUDIO BERSEPADU course. We can gain different knowledge from the other course and this may help a lot during future time when you interview for a job.
What have i learn from the RUS 104 STUDIO BERSEPADU course ???Once again i have learn a lot from RUS 104 course. Firstly , i have learn the skill of drawing. Last time when i been ask to draw some thing i just simply draw it without any skills. Now i have learn some drawing skills and my drawing have improve a little (no too much ). Beside that i learn a lot of communication skills; how i communicate with other that are different race ,religion and from different country. I also learn how to think something out of the box. I been told by my studio master so that to think something out of the box and it will help us to come out with the new idea. From RUS 104 course , i have find out important of teamwork. I have realize that teamwork was very important for us to complete a project(Project 6, 7 and 8). If a group dint show a good teamwork they will feel that it is hard to complete a group project and they will felt very stress. So teamwork was very important. Further more i have learn a lot on how to manage the time. We been given a died line to submit our project. So we need to finish up the project in the time given .So i need to manage mine time so that i can finish the given project in the time been given. So i realize that the RUS 104 course help me a lot on how i manage my own time. Beside that i have learn the skill on how to cut wood during Project 6 because we been asked to build a model for amphitheater stage. I also gain a lot of knowledge about construction of the building like how the wood been joint , how the brick been arrange.
Lastly i would like to thanks all the lectures who lead me,giving me advice during RUS 104 course. Thanks a lot to all the lectures. Beside that i would like to thanks my studio master for Group 12 ;DR. RUHIZAL ROOSLI and PROF MAYDA DR. PUAD MAT SOM who help me a lot and giving me advice during whole semester for studio project. Thanks a lot DR. and PROF.Beside that i would like to thanks Cik Diana that have help and giving me advice. Thanks a lot Cik Diana. Finally, i like to said thanks you so much to all the lectures for RUS 104 course.
Academic Trips To Pulau Langkawi
ReplyDeleteFirst time visit to Pulau Langkawi ....3 days 2 nights trips at Pulau Langkawi.....Its was a great and awesome trip ,join by almost whole first year student of school housing building and planning who take subject RUS 104(Intergrated Studio) and leaded by few lectures.
How we go there ???Hahaha...Firstly we took a bus around 2 hours reach jetty at Kuala Perlis and we reach langkawi by ship.It almost take us around 1 hours to reach Langkawi. While we reach Langkawi, we been bring by the bus to have the lunch.After that we went to Dataran Lang to do our sketching. I sketch the eagle that is the symbolize of Pulau Pinang but my drawing technic was poor so the eagle i draw likeness a chicken. That was really terrible. After that we went to our motel to do tthe check in and we been give free time to do the things we like. During night time we been asked to do the performance group by group according to our major. After that Dr Hafizal was giving the briefing about next day travel. End of one day......
Second day .....We wakeup around 7 am to have our breakfast and 8:30 am we start our journey again. We go for the island hopping. We visited three island around Pulau Langkawi. After that we went back to motel to have our lunch and have a rest. Around 2 pm the activity start again. We play the game together on the beach and we have a great time with friends and the lectures.While the game time was over, we go for dinner and we meet again according to our major around 9 pm at beach site. We share a lot of things during the meet. We been dismiss around 11:30 pm and we all go for rest so that we can continuous our "fighting" for next day .
Last day .....Same with day two we have our breakfast but the different things was we need to pack our things because we going to check out.Means that we going "home"very soon. Hahaha..... Then we went to LADA to attended for a briefing and the food is prepared for us. Thanks you so much to the staff of LADA who prepared food for us .^_^And then we went to the Sky Bridge that was the famous tourism attractions.We went to the top of mountain by the cable.Unlucky things was the sky bridge being repaired. So we can just enjoy the scenery on the top of the mountain. The scenery from top of the mountain was really beautiful and the air was cool and fresh. After that we went to shopping mall to bought the chocolate. We guys are really crazy. We bought a lot of chocolate because it was cheap.After almost one hour shopping we went to jetty prepare to went back to Penang. Boat departure at 7 pm and reached Kuala Perlis around 8:10 pm.When we guys reach USM It was 12 :00 am midnight already .
So we have end up the 3 days 2 nights trips ....Weguys have a great ,awesome and wonderful time at Pulau Langkawi. Thanks you so much to all the lecture who organize the academic trips and lead us to Lankawi. ^_^
